Between past and present: CiPASSO and its detailed architecture.

We found an old e-mail in which the architect of CiPASSO, Francesco Zarbano, describes the location that has been welcoming guests from all over the world to the heart of Rome for over two years.

A unique place, located in a historic palace of the 1930s, a few steps from the Pantheonthe majestic Piazza Navona and all the other wonders that only Rome's open-air museum can offer.

Zarbano recounts, with the attentive and scrupulous eye of an architect, CiPASSO.

An expert viewpoint that passionately admires the fruit of his labour.

This is how Francesco describes our Bistrot:

"The restoration and interiors, amidst plates, majolica and lamps that bring a glorious past back to life.
Authentic and vintage, this is the atmosphere one breathes between the tables of the CIPASSO restaurant, made up of details, colours and flavours of yesteryear.

Restructuring does not erase the past, but shows it to us in a new light.
It is a work of valorisation and rediscovery, etched into the walls and eroded by time, on which the venue also stands, metaphorically."

The architect wants to exalt imperfections and give new life to objects that no longer have it:

"Walls with a lime finish show the imperfections of the walls.
The materials and furnishings are rigorously reclaimed, from the travertine and wood flooring to the boiserie of polished glazed ceramic tiles, from the moss inserted in the bricks to give that touch of natural green that disrupts the quiet elegance of the environment to the bright green of the foliage that seems to radiate a motion of energy that spreads to the surrounding space."

It still emphasises the importance of the past, also extolling it in reference to other objects of decoration:

"The purpose-built pieces, such as the appliqués and pendant lamps, which contribute to the dramatic lighting of the restaurant, are a homage to the past: local craftsmen made them by hand, inspired by the lamps of yesteryear.
The interior of this evocative setting is dominated by soft, light coloursgreen tones that undoubtedly contribute to creation."

A romantic and professional description of what CiPASSO was at that time, is now and will be in the future.
